RUGBY WORLD CUP,
Japan 2019
Case study
• The 2019 Rugby World Cup was the ninth edition of the Rugby World Cup, the quadrennial world championship for men’s rugby union teams. It was hosted in Japan from 20 September to 2 November in 12 venues all across the country.
• GHG was approached to run the Heineken Bars in the spectator plazas at three stadiums, Tokyo, Yokohama and Oita for the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan.
• Whilst planning these bars, GHG was also requested to supply a hawking solution to 8 stadiums during the Rugby World Cup. This involved scaling the original scope considerably and a requirement to work with local employment agencies to ensure there was enough labour force to fulfil the increased brief.
• GHG was also approached to provide ice logistics and water stations for all 12 stadiums during the Rugby World Cup 2019.
